Lächelnder Unternehmer im Anzug an seinem Schreibtisch am Computer — arbeitet entspannt mit dem Simple Business Manager.

The invoicing software that runs your whole business.

Run your business, not your software. Quotes, invoices, finances, contracts, CRM and digital signatures — in one system, on your own server instead of someone else’s cloud.

Not new. Proven. In daily use since 2017.

SBM im Zentrum, verbunden mit Symbolen für Vertrauen und Wissen — Sicherheit, zufriedene Kunden, Auszeichnung, langjährige Erfahrung, Wissen, Wachstum, Zielgenauigkeit und Intelligenz.

SBM is not a young newcomer. It has been running continuously since 2017 — grown inside specialised companies with high invoice volumes, having processed a double-digit million turnover over the years. Scalable into the mid-market: recurring billing, project-based work and receivables management included. Built for continuous operation, not for a brochure — and only now opened up to freelancers, small businesses and agencies.

One system.
Everything connected.

Enter data once — reuse it everywhere. Customers, quotes, invoices, documents, emails and finances aren’t managed separately. They interlock directly and carry over existing data without re-entry. A universal search runs across customers, quotes and invoices — finding a term even when it sits in a single invoice line.

Invoicing software with e-invoicing. Finances at a glance.

Income, expenses, open receivables and tax-relevant figures in one central overview — instead of scattered everywhere. Invoices including e-invoicing to EN 16931 (ZUGFeRD/Factur-X), reverse charge and accountant export. Forward incoming receipts by email or photograph them in the form: recognition runs without AI and without cloud — PDFs on your own server, photos right in your browser. Invoicing software for freelancers, small businesses and growing companies that brings the financial overview along with it.

One core. Endlessly extensible.

Standard modules cover day-to-day business: contracts, recurring invoices and your email account right inside the system. Delivery notes, projects with cost tracking and voice control via the SBM desktop app can be switched on — and where your business needs something special, custom modules. All of them use the same customers, invoices and documents. No isolated silo.

Invoicing software without the cloud. On your own server.

SBM is self-hosted — on your own server, in the EU country you work in. Germany, Spain or wherever your business sits: encrypted transport, access only after login, automatic backups. No forced cloud, no data trading. Your business data lives on your server – SBM only calls outside services where you explicitly trigger them. Pure cloud providers simply cannot offer this.

Your own server

Self-hosted on your server, in the EU country of your choice – not in someone else’s cloud. On-premise in your own building works too. We define the requirements and set the server up so everything runs smoothly.

Privacy-first

Access only after login, roles and permissions, logged activity. The basis for GDPR-compliant operation is in your hands, not a provider’s.

Backup of the whole system

Not just the database: an image of the entire system, automatically once set up and to an external server. Credentials inside it are AES-256 encrypted. Your data stays yours – even when the contract ends.

Open standards

E-invoicing to EN 16931 (ZUGFeRD/Factur-X), reverse charge and accountant export – cleanly integrated. DATEV export for Germany.

Sign contracts digitally. Documents fully under control.

Generate contracts from templates, have them signed digitally and returned counter-signed — in one go, with no second subscription to a signing service. Creation, signature and log run entirely on your server, delivery through your own mail server. With signature log and checksum. Store documents of any kind centrally, export as PDF and send by email.

You don’t buy software. You get someone who runs it.

Installation, setup and adjustments are on us. After that we stay with it: maintenance with a fixed hour allowance, updates, and support straight from inside the system. No download, no self-install, nobody left alone. Tell us what you need.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Customers import via CSV, incoming receipts arrive automatically by email. Services and open items we migrate for you as part of the move.

On your own server, in the EU country you work in — Germany, Spain or elsewhere. GDPR applies EU-wide. No third-party cloud, no data selling.

Yes – e-invoices to EN 16931 (ZUGFeRD/Factur-X) are created and incoming e-invoices are read and validated, plus reverse charge and the accountant export. DATEV export applies to Germany; in Spain the accountant export takes that role. That covers the invoice format. SBM does not currently meet the Spanish regulation on invoicing software itself (Verifactu, RD 1007/2023) — if your business falls under it, please clarify that with us beforehand.

SBM is modular – which areas you switch on is your call. Tell us your requirements and we’ll make you a fitting offer.

Yes – as a web app on desktop, tablet and smartphone, anywhere with an internet connection.

Fair and flexible – SBM grows with your needs. We clarify the details in your no-obligation request.

Yes. You start with quotes and invoices and add further modules only when you need them — without switching systems. The German small-business rule (§ 19 UStG) is built in, including the required closing note on the invoice.

Trades, agencies, service providers, retail and consulting. The core stays the same; industry-specific workflows come as separate modules and use the same customer and invoice data.

Both. The finance language determines the tax law, the legal form the tax profile — from Autónomo, S.L. and S.L.U. to freelancer, sole trader, GmbH, UG, GbR, OHG and KG. The financial overview reports by month, quarter and year and shows how much to set aside for tax.

Yes. The universal search covers customers, quotes and invoices down to the individual line and finds a term even when it sits in a single invoice line — what you get back is the full document with its actions. Results follow each user’s permissions.

Yes — that is exactly what it is built for. SBM is installed on your own server, at the host of your choice or on-premise in your own building. Your business data lives there and nowhere else, and it does not leave your house. Pure cloud providers cannot offer this.

It stays on your server — database, receipts, documents, everything. You can pull an image of the entire system at any time. With a cloud service, access ends with the contract.

Yes. Contracts are generated from templates, go out for signature via a secure link and come back counter-signed — with signature log and checksum. No extra subscription to a signing service needed.

Yes — that is where it came from. Since 2017 a double-digit million invoice turnover has been processed through SBM, in companies with a high daily document load. Lists, reporting and bulk processing are built for it; the safety limits for very large lists can be raised in the settings.

Not for working with your data — that lives on your server. For the licence, yes: activation, validation and renewal run over a secured connection to us. We deliberately do not offer workarounds such as uploadable key files or binding to fixed IP addresses. Those are precisely the methods that get circumvented most often — and a licence that can be bypassed protects neither you nor us.

Monthly by invoice — you get a proper document for your books every month. On request by SEPA direct debit, then collection runs by itself. Setup is billed once, separately.

Yes. SBM gets a mailbox of its own that you forward incoming invoices to. The document is read out, the supplier is created as a creditor and the original file attached. Attachments are never executed, only read — and unknown senders end up in quarantine rather than in your books.

No. Installation, setup and adapting it to your workflows are done by us. After that a maintenance agreement runs with a fixed hour allowance — updates, changes, questions. If that is not enough, extra hours are billed at the agreed rate. Support tickets go out straight from inside SBM, no portal and no hold queue.

You provide the server – at your host or in your own building. We define the requirements and set it up so SBM runs smoothly: PHP version, database, storage, permissions, encryption and the automatic backups. None of that is your job. Updates are then applied inside the system itself; SBM keeps showing any required step until it is done – nothing quietly slips through.
